As our beloved students prepare to step into a new phase of life, we come together in faith and gratitude to bless their journey ahead. This farewell prayer service Script for Outgoing Students is designed to honour their time with us, thank God for their growth, and pray for their future.
Welcome and Introduction
Leader:
Good morning and a warm welcome to everyone gathered here.
Today, we pause to express our gratitude for the students who are bidding farewell to our institution. We are here to lift them up in prayer and ask God to guide them on the road ahead. Let this service be a moment of reflection, thanksgiving, and blessing.
Opening Hymn (Optional)
Suggested Hymn: “Be With Us, Mary” or “Here I Am, Lord”
First Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”
Reflection:
As our students prepare to leave the protective environment of our institution, they may feel uncertain about the future. This verse reminds us that God already holds their future in His hands—a future filled with hope and purpose.
Prayer 1: A Prayer of Gratitude
Leader:
Let us thank God for the years our outgoing students have spent here.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the time our students have spent in this institution.
For the lessons learned, friendships made, and the values nurtured.
We are grateful for every moment of growth and discovery.
May their hearts carry these memories as they journey forward. Amen.
Second Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Reflection:
The path ahead may be filled with both joy and challenge. This verse encourages us to trust not in our limited understanding but in God’s perfect guidance. For our students, this trust will be the foundation of wise and purposeful living.
Prayer 2: For Wisdom and Guidance
Lord Jesus,
Grant our students the wisdom to make choices that reflect Your will.
Help them to rely on You in times of uncertainty.
Guide them to walk with courage, faith, and humility.
May they always seek Your truth in every decision they make. Amen.
Third Bible Reading: Psalm 121:7–8
“The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Reflection:
This verse is a beautiful assurance that God’s protection surrounds us always. As our students leave the safety of our care, they are never beyond God’s reach. He will guard their every step.
Prayer 3: For Protection and Strength
Loving God,
Protect our students from harm and lead them in the path of goodness.
Give them strength in trials, hope in difficulties,
And confidence in moments of doubt.
Be their constant companion in all their coming and going. Amen.
Fourth Bible Reading: Isaiah 40:31
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Reflection:
Transitions can be exhausting, but those who place their hope in God will find renewal. This promise invites our students to draw strength from their faith, no matter how high the climb.
Prayer 4: For Endurance and Hope
God of power and love,
When our students feel tired or overwhelmed, renew their strength.
Help them to keep going when the journey gets tough.
Fill them with hope that lifts them like wings above worry and fear. Amen.
Fifth Bible Reading: Matthew 5:14–16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden…
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Reflection:
Each student carries a unique light within them. As they step into the world, they are called to shine—to bring truth, love, and service into every space they enter.
Prayer 5: For Purpose and Mission
Lord,
Let our students be a light to the world.
Help them to live with integrity, serve with compassion,
And lead with justice and truth.
May their lives glorify You in all they do. Amen.
Sixth Bible Reading: Philippians 4:6–7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Reflection:
In times of anxiety or confusion, this verse calls our students to turn to God in prayer. His peace is the ultimate gift—one that will steady their hearts no matter what life brings.
Prayer 6: For Peace of Heart
God of peace,
Calm our students’ anxious hearts.
Help them turn to You in every situation.
Let Your peace dwell within them always—
Guiding, comforting, and guarding them on every step of their journey. Amen.

As you walk out of the gates of our institution, know that you take with you more than knowledge—you carry values, friendships, faith, and countless blessings. May you step forward with confidence, faith, and joy.
