Opening Welcome (By a Student Leader): Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and dear friends,
Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom and unity that defines our great nation.
As we pray together, we remember that though we come from different faiths, we are united in one dream — a peaceful, just, and prosperous India.
Let us now listen to sacred words from different holy scriptures, reminding us of our shared values of peace, justice, and love.
Readings from the Holy Scriptures: (Different students read from different scriptures.)
Reading from the Holy Bible (Christianity):(Student 1 reads)
Galatians 5:13–14
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Reading from the Bhagavad Gita (Hinduism): (Student 2 reads)
Bhagavad Gita 2:47
“You have the right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Perform your duty with dedication and let not the results disturb your mind.”
Reading from the Holy Quran (Islam): (Student 3 reads)
Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13
“O Human Beings! We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know each other. Verily, the most honored of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you.”
Reading from the Guru Granth Sahib (Sikhism): (Student 4 reads)
Guru Granth Sahib, p. 1299
“All human beings are the same — it is through deeds they are distinguished. There is only one Father of all, and we are all His children.”
(Optional) Reading from Buddhist Teachings: (Student 5 reads)
Dhammapada 5:1
“Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred alone is hatred appeased. This is an eternal law.”
Short Reflection (By Teacher or Senior Student):
Today, as we listen to the wisdom from different faiths, we see one powerful truth:
We are all children of one God.
Freedom is not just independence from outside rulers, but freedom from hatred, fear, and selfishness within ourselves.
The real strength of India is her unity in diversity.
Let us be proud of our heritage, yet humble; courageous, yet compassionate; free, yet responsible.
Let us honor our nation not just by words, but by the way we live — in honesty, respect, and service to one another.
Intercessory Prayers (All Faiths Prayer): (After each prayer, all respond: “Lord, hear our prayer.” or simply “Hear us, O Lord.”)
Leader: For our beloved nation, that it may continue to grow in peace, prosperity, and unity,
All: Hear us, O Lord.
For all leaders, that they may be guided by wisdom and justice,
All: Hear us, O Lord.
For all soldiers, doctors, teachers, and workers who serve selflessly,
All: Hear us, O Lord.
For the poor, the marginalized, and the oppressed, that they may find justice and dignity,
All: Hear us, O Lord.
For ourselves, that we may always work for the good of our community and our country,
All: Hear us, O Lord.
Special Prayer for India (All Together): (All students say together or it can be led line-by-line.)

And joyful in service.
